Niche teabag question

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/09/2025 15:06

Tea pigs have apparently discontinued one of my favourite flavours - apple and cinnamon. I'm very sad about this as I don't like many fruit teas and this one was my go to when trying to avoid caffeine after lunch. Is anyone similarly a fan and has found a suitable substitute?

Thanks (told you it was niche)

I haven't tried it myself but I see that Pukka do an apple and cinnamon one which is on offer in Waitrose at the moment, so worth a try!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/09/2025 15:52

Thanks @dailyconniptions I will check out the pukka one, although they seem to sneak licorice into all their teas and I haven't found a pukka tea that I've enjoyed yet. Got to have hope tho 😁

Bird and Blend do several apple teas.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/09/2025 16:21

Thanks @twilightcafe I have perused Bird & Blend and ordered some of their Apple Strudel, which seems to be rooibos based, which I do like 🤞🏻

We have a Polish supermarket nearby, they do an amazing selection of teas, so perhaps look somewhere like that.

IHateSand · 23/09/2025 18:39

I really like Suki teas “Apple loves mint” - it comes loose or in bags, a bit pricey but it’s absolutely lovely.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 23/09/2025 18:41

I’ve made the Bird & Blend and added a cinnamon stick in the past.

MisterT373 · 24/09/2025 02:26

Gillards of Bath do an amazing amount of different types of tea. Couldn't find Apple & Cinnamon mixed but they do have them separately that you could blend

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 24/09/2025 05:52

I was also going to suggest Bird and Blend if you live near one they’ll probably let you try it first. They also sell diy teabags so you can make them up yourself to your own strength.

Heath and Heather (sold through Holland and Barrett amongst others) do a lovely Apple and Cinnamon tea.

My Polish MIL tried to slosh vodka in my tea when I had a cold once, which might make a great substitute for apple and cinnamon.Grin

Agree about the smuggled licorice. It is in so many herbal teas, presumably for its hint of sweetness, but it is bleugh.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 24/09/2025 15:57

Lots of really helpful suggestions thank you. This may seem like a small thing but it really wound me up!

Here to report that Bird and Blend Apple Strudel is NOT IT. Too much vanillary flavour going on, bleurgh. Much sadness. The search continues...

Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice is one of my favourites - you can get it online or if you have a Sostrene Grene near you, they sell it too.

Thanks @Xiaoxiong that does look promising. My teen DD is also very invested in this, it's one of her favourites!

M&S did a Christmas apple and cinnamon not sure if it’s there all year though

CandidHedgehog · 06/11/2025 21:48

It’s temporarily back in stock on the Teapigs website. Not much and apparently selling fast.

FullOfMomsense · 06/11/2025 21:57

It's still in stock, not for long though because I've just stocked up 😳

TeaAndTalesMama · 06/11/2025 22:00

I know this was posted a while ago, but I recently discovered Apple and Cinnamon teabags from Aldi. They are specially selected and taste lovely.

I have this very same problem with Pukka!!

AlicePottery · 06/11/2025 22:26

And if it isn't licorice it's bloody fennel 🤮

Yes! These are definitely the best substitute I've found, I've stocked up 😁 Price wise very reasonable too.

I did try the Celestial ones and they were a bit closer but teen DD (who is also very invested in this) said they tasted 'too much like hippy shops in Glastonbury'
