Condenser dryer

Just replaced a 30 year old tumble dryer with a logik condensing one.
Is it usual that the clothes are still red hot when the programme is finished? I’ve tried a mixed/ synthetics one and a simple timed 1hour one, they both said cooling cycle towards the end but the instructions don’t say how long it runs for - the water in the tank is also very hot, I’d say at least 45-50°
I’ve only used half the 9kg load too.
The dryer has humidity sensors so I’m wondering if I’ve just not chosen a long enough programme? A couple of heavy cotton polo shirts are dryish but not bone dry.

My old dryer would run cold for 10 mins at the end of every cycle and stuff would be just slightly aired when I took it out.

Were the hot clothes that used a sensor cycle actually dry? I wouldn't say they should be red hot and dry on a sensor cycle though.

I use a heat pump now, but my old condenser did run pretty hot. The clothes would be quite steamy when still damp.

I personally prefer them not cooled at the end, as cooling would set in creases if not removed and folded promptly.

I’ve used various condensing dryers and the only time the clothes are red hot is if I accidentally open the door mid cycle (on the hot cycle)
The water in the tank for me has always been cool/cold
It sounds as if perhaps yours has a slightly dodgy thermostat?

Apparently if the door isn’t opened 3 mins after the cycle ends, it periodically tumbles for an hour to reduce creasing.
I’ll try a ‘refresh’ setting tomorrow, which is meant to be a cool 10 minute one. I tried one today but the drum was still hot and it didn’t seem to cool down at all, if it gets overly warm from cold then I’ll know there’s a problem.
I also assumed there would be a time remaining display, so I have no idea how long one of the ‘smart’ settings will run for, the instructions are fairly vague re: timings.
