John Lewis Steam Generator/iron - emptied the scale but the alarm stays on?

How do i reset it

It's old and second hand but ideally id like to carry on using it; the scale warning noise/symbol came on so I followed the directions to rinse out the scale (twice now - the screwdriver thingie is useless)

What am I failing to do?

Do you know the model number?
Is there a button to hold for a few seconds to reset?

No obvious buttons

I googled the model LE115016 to get the instructions and didn't see a reset mentioned

What flashes to say it needs descaling?

I have looked at the instructions, and agree there doesn't appear to be a step to reset the warning.

However, I don't believe it really "knows" it needs descaling, it's assuming based on the amount of use and the hardness setting. So I don't think there will be any harm in continuing to use it with the warning.

I would recommend using some descaler, especially if there was any evidence of build up when you emptied it.
In future and only use deionised water, if you're in a hard water area without a water softener.

There wasn't a lot of scale, so I'm jot concerned about scale but it won't steam with the warning light/noise on

I got it working by holding and pressing random buttons - i have no idea what I did
