Long term storage of mattress advice

Hi ladies, we will need to put our mattress in the garage for about 5 months over the winter while the house is completely renovated. We have bought one of those zipped mattress covers but does anyone have any tips to stop it coming out musty and maybe damp next year?

I really wouldn’t. Could it go under another bed? It will get cold and damp

I really wouldn’t unless your garage is well ventilated and heated it will become damp and musty / mouldy. Also if mice can get in they will easily chew through the cover and into your mattress - might even use it as a nest ( happened to a neighbour )

I've had several mattresses in store for over two years, zipped into heavy plastic mattress storage bags (got them on amazon). I check them every few months - they're absolute fine, no smells, no damp, no mould. If you're worried though, get some of those large silica sachets and put a few in each bag.
It'll be fine.

Not an option. Most of house being demolished

Depending how much it cost I think I would just get a new one
