How to get urine out of a mattress

My dog peed copiously all over my bed yesterday. I’ve scrubbed the mattress with disinfectant and then sprayed it with Febreeze, but I can still smell it.

How can I get rid of the smell? It’s a newish mattress and I can’t afford another one.

Can you get it outside for a bit?

That’s a very good idea, but we have rain forecast for the next few days.

Cover it in baking soda and let it soak up the wetness. Then hoover it up once it's dry. Took three rounds of a vinegar spray, then baking soda, to get cat pee out of DS's mattress

Febreeze will just be masking the smell rather than removing it

Can you get a steam cleaner on it?

I do have one somewhere, that’s a great idea.

Thank you everyone!

Urine will be inside the mattress and nothing you do on the surface will bring it out. Is it old enough to justify replacing it? I would in your circumstances, I think.

It’s only a few months old, I can’t afford to replace it, unfortunately.
