Help! Vomit stain on new carpet, what do I do? (tmi alert)

Went in this morning and DS has been sick over the side of his cot in the night. He had lasagne for supper so as you can imagine my gorgeous new deep pile carpet is covered in red splatters. It's also managed to dry a bit - how should I go about getting the stain out?

ps haven't got any stain removal stuff in (clever me) and all the shops near here are closed coz it's Sunday (am in belgium) Aaaarrgghh!!!!

Hello, haven't got any ideas for a stain removal alternative, but when you next get to the shops, "OzKleen Carpet Power" is the best one I've come across. It's an Australian brand. My daughter was sick from the top of her bunk bed at midnight the other night, ! Went everywhere! However after two applications of this spray the stains had gone. We're insisting she sleeps on the bottom bunk for now!
