Removing rust from ceramic worktop

We‘ve got beautiful matte white ceramic worktops.

Next to the sink I have a special drying mat (instead of a rack). Last night I washed up my cast iron casserole dish and left it upside down on the mat to dry. I meant to dry it up straight away, but DC woke up and I completely forgot about it.

A bit of it was hanging over the mat, and now there is a rusty mark on the worktop!

I‘ve scrubbed it which faded it a bit, but it’s still very noticeable.

Has anyone got a miracle tip? I‘m so annoyed with myself!!

Have you tried a magic eraser? I would also try neat bleach, that tends to work on our worktops although they are quartz not ceramic. How annoying!

I've got quartz and have used 'cif' on any stubborn marks.
There were a few rust stains on the kitchen tiles of my house when I moved in a few years ago. Mum suggested I used mould removal, bizarrely it removed about 80% if the stain, so that may be worth a try too.

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool @anythingbutlillies I‘ve got a magic eraser somewhere, and Cif in the cupboard. I‘ll give them a go, thanks!

You need Bar Keeper's Friend - I use it for this (it's a powder) and it's like magic.
