Help me chose a dishwasher

I need a cheap-ish, no frills dishwasher that won't pack-up within a year. Has to be integrated with a sliding door fixing and I need one with a delayed start as the dishwasher goes on overnight when our electricity is cheapest. Not remotely bothered about wifi enabled or whatever, just want something that cleans the dishes & will last. Any ideas?

Somewhere like AO will allow you to put those filters on

Savvyshopper81 · 20/08/2025 16:37

@Oldraver Yes many sites will but I’d love some recommendations.

We bought a Bosch last year, best one we’ve ever had for sure and it wasn’t a super expensive Bosch either, one of their cheaper models. Well worth it

Bosch for us too, fantastic.

I gave in after many yrs of insisting I didn't want one to become the greatest convert. We did lots of research regarding reliability/costs etc and ended up with a Bosch. It has several programmes most of which we don't use, but it has a very controllable delay button which we use to switch on 2hrs before breakfast so it's not on overnight (super safety conscious)

We had a pretty dire experience with Electrolux and their "repair" service. Would avoid like the plague.

Betheadore · 20/08/2025 16:59

I'd definitely have another Smeg dishwasher. They have a basic integrated one with time delay for around £340 .

I had a minor issue with mine and their repair service was excellent under the extended warranty.

I'd recommend a bosch too but would choose a cutlery basket rather than a cutlery tray - i lose the will to live rearranging the cutlery 😬

whirlyhead · 22/08/2025 12:18

I have a Bosch with timer delay and it’s great. I especially like the red light that shines on the floor when it’s working so you know not to open the door.

Another vote for Bosch- very quiet , very efficient and they have the best price to years in service ratio I've come across.

Happycow · 22/08/2025 13:51

I have a basic Hotpint - been in daily use for over 10 years, never had a single issue with it!

Another vote for Bosch. After trying cheaper brands that didn't wash as well and were a lot noisier and less energy efficient.
