Hard to vac thick carpets - Hoover rec?

decided to get very thick upstairs carpets and they are very hard work to hoover with our little miele (which has great suction - almost too good!), wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a vacuum which is easier to use for in between cleans - we’ve 4 hairy pets! Looking at the shark cordless but wondered if anyone had thoughts - thank you!

I set our upright dyson (corded version ) to minimun suction for thicker carpets, it does the trick.

I've got the Shark cordless. It's a solid vacuum but it's not lived up to all my hopes and dreams compared to the glowing recommendations my family gave it. It's particularly not that good at corners with its big foot on and the suction isn't all that when you use any other attachments instead of the big foot. Also when you vacuum under low furniture, the bending feature clicks back into upright at every backwards stroke so you have to press the button again and again. I think we could have got something decent without the brand name/hype for about £100 less. At least we got it when it was on offer though.

We’ve just moved and the carpet in the lounge is so thick and our plug in hoover is so efficient it’s like pushing a heavy lawn mower! Made my arms and shoulders ache. Even DH admitted it was hard.
We also have a Shark cordless pet. Hoovered the carpet really well and easy to manage.
