Dead Rodent Smell

So I have a cat that loves to hunt shrews, usually she leaves them outside.

For the last 24 hours or so there was a smell in the living room bothering me so whilst cleaning today I pulled out the sofa and found a dead shrew stuck to the wall.

There was a wet patch on the back of the sofa where the shrew was. I've cleaned it 4x with the vax spotwash but the smell won't go away.

How the hell can I get rid of the smell?

Only biological washing powder will remove the smell. Make up a strong mixture of biological powder and warm (but not hot) water. Apply to the sofa with a soft brush so that it penetrates the fabric. Keep brushing gently for 10 minutes or so, regularly using more of the mixture. Then rinse with warm water and dry with a clean towel. You might have to repeat this a couple of times before the smell disappears.
