Morning all

It is really wet here, so tummble dryer it is for today.

Mum seems a lot better this morning, amaxing what a large dose of steriods can do.

DS2 is not well though, he has a really barking cough and also gooey eyes, so no swimming for him.

He can stay at home with mum.

Breakfasts are cooling, so must crack on

Morning ladies

Thanks for the thread gem
I love a good thunder storm...although perhaps not if it keeps me awake! Have a good afternoon.

TMH glad your mum seems a bit better today, hope DS gets better soon too.

dyls I dread the day mine ask me for a pony!
We are off to a birthday party this afternoon, hope you all have a good time

Well I am hobbling about this morning.....I have pulled a muscle in my knee. I ran my 4 miles yesterday evening, and either I didn't warm up/down properly, or my legs have finally objected to being hauled up and down the countryside!

I really need some descent running trainers, but they will have to be put on the list!

dylsmum1998 · 28/05/2008 09:21

i love the fact she likes ponies- i used to work in a stables as a teenager. but cos i'd love one but no way i could afford the upkeep on one, only just manage the dc!
didnt expect her to ask yet she's only just 2!
maybe when i've finished all my training and have a decent paying job [hopeful emoticon]

squatchette · 28/05/2008 09:23

Morning all,
Hope you had a good bank hol.We went to the lakes to see my Dad lovely weather but not today back at home.Oh well the rain will do my plants good at least.Have lots to do today.Am decluttering (again) where does it all come from?

I seriously need to catch up on the washing as well nearly everything is clean and dry but it's all sat in bags in the utility room. Was meant to start it yesterday but went to an ante natal appointment at 1pm and didn't get back until tea time .It's been like that since i had my first dd 5 years ago! They've a big new maternity hospital but i suppose the same number of staff .

Congrats on your 4 miles LUDA what was it in aid of or was it just to keep fit?? I used to be a runner and really loved it would love to be properly fit again.Maybe after September, too much like a weeble at the mo.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/05/2008 09:34

Morning

Just started this and the phone is ringing - back in a mo x

Ludaloo · 28/05/2008 09:39

dyls you'll get there one day (its what I keep saying to myself!)

squat I am running in this years "Race for Life" for Cancer Research. I only have a couple of weeks now before I run...its on June 11th, so I have been trying to get as much running in as I can.
Now I have started running though, I'd like to keep it up, even after the race. It gets kind of addictive!

Morning bianca

jingleyjen · 28/05/2008 09:44

morning all,
gem thanks for the mission - we had thunderstorms here last night as well turns out I spent half the night sat next to DS1's bed as he is very frightened of thunder. [knackered-emotion]
TMH sorry to hear your little one isn't feeling well, hope some time with your Mum and a break from swimming will do him some good. Really good to hear your mum is getting better
Dylsmum hope you enjoy your birthday party
Luda good on you for running 4 miles - sorry your knee is hurting this morning... will ice help? (I read somewhere that paula ratcliffe has an ice bath when she gets back from running) Hope you enjoy the birthday party...
squatchette don't think we have met before... I love the lake district.. one of those places that are good for the soul. Hope you manage to get some de-cluttering done.

I am on ironing this morning and if I get time I will do some paper shifting in the study.
this morning have
unloaded and reloaded washing machine
unloaded and reloaded dishwasher
fed the boys
tidied the kitchen
made the beds
ss the bathrooms

DS1 Got friends coming for afternoon tea. - All sunny and gorgeous after our thunderstorm so going to peg out washing.
Hope you all have a good day.

EHM · 28/05/2008 09:55

BiancaCastafiore · 28/05/2008 10:01

scattyspice · 28/05/2008 11:39

Haven't caught up yet. Hope you all having a good 1/2 term.

DYLS hope the camping went well. I'll bet you were jiggered when you got back eh?

Off to get hair style now .

squatchette · 28/05/2008 12:52

Evening everyone...grim weather here today.

I have been a bad FLY pal. I haven't said individual hellos for ages. Nor have I welcomed all the newbies and tghe Returnees It's great to see you all and your virtual friendship is very important to me.

Been out all day. Ed had a GP appointment and then we popped up to the out of town shopping centre. Ended up at IKEA but it was the only place that stocked what we needed. Toys-R-Us was just souless, there was nowhere to sit down and no safe pedestrian areas. The bus stop is a heck of a walk from the stores. If you don't have a car, like me, you just felt like the scum of the earth. Why the hell I go up there is beyond me. NO MORE. Ed was really good but was wandering about in a daydream, not good in large carparks really.

So not a lot of FLYing done really, just keeping the place ticking over really. Ed has asked to be put to bed, he has snots and I think he's wiped out.

Tomorrow will be a more enjoyable day

scattyspice · 28/05/2008 18:04

Ruby rainy holidays are the pits! Do you have any plans for next few days? I have been looking up kids club films at cinema in case of bad weather tomorrow.

Grouchy I agree, shopping parks are totally designed round car users . Still, petrol prices still rising so we'll all be non car users soon .

squatt no elec sounds like a good excuse to sit down and read a book girl .

grouchyoscar · 28/05/2008 18:12

Thing is Scatty they shouldn't be. Planning guidance states that they should be accessible to non car users. Half a pavement is hardly consideration

Online shopping is so much easier!

TheMadHouse · 28/05/2008 18:14

evening all

Groucy Did the curse of Ikea get you - spending much more than intended.

Scatty camping - I can not wait

Sorry forgot the rest.

I am shattered, it has been a hard day, like waiting on three toddlers. "I am not responsible for my mothers happiness" - she is driving me round the twist and has decided to stay again tonight. I am obviouly far too hospitable

I must iron and do fridge and shopping list for tomorrow

dylsmum1998 · 28/05/2008 19:47

Luda tis what i keep telling myself- one day it'll all be great and i can do more than window shop

Scatty glad you had a good time camping- not sure what jiggered means , but we had a good time too!!

GO sounds like your describing Lakeside a shopping place near-ish to us. i love it there loads of shops- but you walk at your own peril!

Ruby rain? whats that we have had no rain

well i have done no flying today- dont know where the morning went. then we went to the party which was nice. then poped ti shops to exhange the present for my eice for something she doesnt have. when i got back the main entrance to the block of flats had jammed so no-one could get in or out. the fella from the first floor climbed down the drain pipe to kick the door and let people out. i politely declined coming in until the housing people had been round to fix it, its the only way in and out in the whole nlock and went to nanny and grandads for tea nstead. ahve just got back to find the door isnt fixed its just had the catch took out so it opens- but now doesnt shut- so much for a safety door!

tortoise · 28/05/2008 21:32

Evening all.
