I want a new pillow

I want a new pillow. I always have down pillows because I like to thump them and tuck them into exactly the right shape, which varies according to how I'm lying and what I'm doing. Synthetic pillows always seem to stay the same shape.

Is there an alternative to down, that will allow me to reshape like down does?

I saw this advertised recently (have never used anything like it myself). simbasleep.com/products/simba-hybrid-pillow

£159 for a pillow? That is kicking ass!

Go to places like Dunelm or your local bed shop and feel the pillows. We have recently swapped from foam Dunlopillow (at around £70 a pop, to some hollow fibre ones at £16 each! It’s really a case of seeing what suits you.

Can’t beat a Premier Inn at Home pillow. Recommended on here and I’m a huge convert.

We got the emma original pillows and love them. Thumps into place like you say 🤣

DiscoBeat · 29/07/2025 22:34

Important to make sure you have the right one for your sleeping position, I'm following too as ours are all a few years old now so time for replacements.

QwestSprout · 29/07/2025 22:37

I use the Simba hybrid - I have no idea how it compares to down pillows as I'm allergic to feathers, but it will spring back against you, it doesn't just stay where it's put.

You can fully adjust how fat it is though, and if you're a side sleeper it's great.

I have a water pillow after reading about it on here. Not had one sore neck since I started using it 6 months ago. You can’t thump it but I love it.

I had to check my email 🙈 emma original hybrid!

Dilbertian · 30/07/2025 18:16

And you can change its shape by typing it?

I'll have a good go of thumping it tonight to make sure but I'm sure yes x I'll let you know in the morning haha

😂👍

Never spent so much on a pillow, but, given the returns policy on the website, I think it may be worth trying one.

Sorry OP life became hectic with the DC this week 😅
It definitely thumps and is movable as long as you put your head straight down, it bounces back to shape pretty well if left. But I always thump the corner and fold it up a bit ? And I sleep no bother. Pro is it doesn't lose its shape like normal pillows. Always goes back to a rectangle! Definitely worth a shot thanks to their returns policy. We had never spent that type of money but we bought the emma mattress and pillows, when we had issues with the mattress I spoke with them regarding a return but they offered me a free extra topper to see if it made the bed more comfortable and it's been amazing since. I'm super happy with their service tbf. Hope you find the pillow you're looking for 🥰

I'm allergic to feathers and down and have a cluster fibre pillow which is nice and mouldable. No. Point sharing which, as I've had it some time and it's reaching the point where it needs replacing.
