How do you organise your wardrobes? Help!

Will include a couple of photos but they might not show straight away. I basically need to tidy and organise mine and teen ds wardrobes. Both have a hanging rail, shelf above, and ds has a 4 cube kallax in his as he needed some shelves. Unfortunately that doesn't leave him much hanging space. Ive been through both wardrobes and got rid of loads of stuff, so what we have now is what we need to keep. I would like ideas to maximise the use of the spaces more efficiently and suggestions of storage systems (especially for shoes and trainers) I could buy that might help. Storage is a big issue in our house so bags, gym equipment etc tend to have to live on the top shelves of wardrobes. They look so messy 😩

A low chest of drawers or square 4 kallax unit would work so much better in your son's.
Yours would take 5 minutes to tidy- get a few storage baskets that look pretty for the top rather than having things loose, and if it really bothers you how it looks, switch out to matching coat hangers, hang your clothes the same way, and block them by style/ colour

Thabks, spent ages on ikea and amazon websites yesterday, got a few baskets coming today, hopefully they fit (I did measure!) Aldo ordered a shoe rack for the bottom of my wardrobe. None of it is helped by the fact im the only person in the house who likes things tidy, Dh and ds were born messy 🤦‍♀️

I don't know if you can fit it in, but shoes all live under the stairs in our house.

Why the need for so many bags for the kids?

So, basically, we dont have shoes or bags in wardrobes!

Pull out winter stuff and put in loft or under bed storage.

So the bags in ds wardrobe are his school sports bag - which is huge and contains all his school sport wear (tracksuit, hoodie , rugby kit etc), school bag, and rucksack for outside of school. He's 16 they need so much bloody stuff at that age!
Our hall cupboard is tiny and just about holds a few coats, our whole hallway is tiny so no space for a shoe cupboard unfortunately. Storage is an issue in this house.

Yes I want to order some under bed storage bags, that will help.

Put some sturdy hooks on the door vertically to hang the bags so one is hung at top, one in the middle and one lower down.

Good idea! Getting him to actually hang them up might be another matter though 🙄

If possible, I would rotate the shelves in DSs wardrobe and hang as much as possible.
I like the progress you have made so far though!
Having things in boxes or baskets will neaten everything up, and if you don't already know about folding Marie Kondo style, you should look into it and see if it will work for you.
