Mattress recommendations - if one of you is much heavier than the other

Dp is on a weight loss journey but is substantially taller than me anyway (he’s 195cm (about 6 ft 5 in old money I think) and I’m 167cm (just under 5 ft 6). Because he’s overweight at the moment, he’s about 50kg heavier than me.

We split our super king into 2 separate single mattresses in the same frame because Dp gets restless at 4am and turns around and whenever he does, it’s like a bloody see saw (as he turns round and slams his body down, it launches me up it wakes me up). It started out ok but it’s now back to the way it was before. We’re both on the same bed frame and I guess the wood slats the mattresses sit on have weakened.

Does anyone have a similar problem and have a super king mattress or topper they can recommend? I am running out of options and I cannot keep being woken up at 4am every day!

Natural latex, no springs. Expensive, but worth every penny. We literally cannot feel the other person moving around.

Oooh thanks so much @Aparecium- I’m off to look at these now!

With a really good zip link double of the correct firmness for each body weight you shouldn’t feel the roll.
We have a Harrison Spinks zip link double DH’s side is firm as he is over 13 stone and my side is medium as I am over 9 stone, but under 13 stone. I never feel him turn.
our mattress is made of Hemp and wool which also helps deaden the roll too I think, plus warm in the winter cool in the summer and natural fibres.

Thanks @Needanadultgapyear- I will look at that too.

We have a memory foam one (Dreams Tempur firm one), and I don't feel it at all when DH moves (30kg heavier than me).

Otherwise you need to buy two singles on a base, not a frame. This is how they do it in hotels.

We have 2 singles on the super king frame but he still bounces me around. I think it’s the slats! Thanks for all these recommendations - I will have a look at them all

Definitely two single bases. Like a hotel who either makes up a twin room or a double by pushing them together.

We have a kingsize with sprung slats, but the slats do not go across the whole width of the bed. The supporting frame has a bar (with legs) running down the centre of the bed, so slat movement is not transferred from one side to the other.

Our previous bed was a double with non-sprung wooden slats. Again, movement was not transmitted by the slats, although whole-bed movement was. But changing from a sprung mattress to a 100% latex mattress dealt with that.

Similar here, I feel your pain. I fell for the sales pitch and bought a super-duper king size mattress for 3k+ that "would not transfer movement". Waste of money. I will get two singles bases and two single mattresses next time. The only thing "joint" will be the fitted sheet.

Do you have a zip link at the moment or 2 singles (singles are shorter than super king)

edited to add:
I’m so sick to trying to find the correct bed - feel like I am burning money buying beds!! I hate it!
