Miele - buyer beware

I find these forums helpful for insight into experiences with customer service, so wanted to share my own experience with Miele.

Dishwasher, around 10 years old, stopped working and had an error code.

Miele customer service was so bad, I wouldn't want to own another appliance from them. Ignored emails, dropped phone calls, double charge for engineer visit. There seems to be something wrong with how the operation is managed as it just seems dysfunctional and - for the price of their products - pretty unacceptable.

Surprised to hear this as I have had almost the opposite experience. Quick response polite and plesant went out of their way to support and waived a part of the fee for being a 2 day wait for the part. Contact after a week to check all was sound. This is a mid range dishwasher machine for them too so nothing special.

DH and I renovated a derelict property and installed new Miele appliances throughout, assuming they'd have longevity and great customer service. Its our forever home.

We've only had the appliances 2 years and so far, they work and are ok. Not the amazing clean I anticipated, but ok. TBH, I wish I'd spent less for Neff or Bosch.

Customer service with Miele has been diabolical! Long queues on the phone to get though to their ridiculous customer service people. 1 item had to be ordered via their phone line. They got the address wrong and when I called to sort it out before delivery- after 30mins on hold- they said that IF the driver couldn't find our house on the day, he/she 'might' call and ask for directions. The name on the delivery was completely wrong also!

No, 1 washing pod compensation doesn't excuse that your drivers smashed my new washing machine on the ground so it cracked the entire top and the door didn't close! And then they got upset when I wanted it sent back! I was then 2 weeks without a machine till they could replace another one. Then another 30mins waiting on the phone to their non-customer service to explain the issue! No sympathy or 'I'm sorry' at all.

I wouldn't buy from them again. If for nothing else but the non existent customer support.
