Possibly hair dye removal wipes? Can't find pic but I posted mine on a similar query a few weeks ago - they work wonders on skin and tiles so hopefully would also work for lino?

I've got a couple of spots on my bathroom lino and haven't managed to get them out unfortunately. I now cover a large area with towels before I do my hair, but I still manage to find the odd spots of dye which escape the towels,... 😬

Wd40 can get scuffs out but I’m not sure about dye.

BoredTrish83 · 25/06/2025 21:22

Some more good ideas thankyou. Only downfall its white lino and red hair dye !

Try oxygen bleach or,maybe even better, hydrogen peroxide.

Have you left the bleach to sit on it for a while so it can lift the colour out?

BoredTrish83 · 27/06/2025 15:50

Yes i might try elbow grease spray this weekend with the magic eraser will let you know 😉

My breath is baited

Avon Skin So Soft dry oil spray. Thoroughly spray the stain, leave for 15 minutes then wipe. Repeat until gone. The stuff is amazing - it’s removed hair dye from lino & wood, it dissolved the glue residue from rug tape (floor not hair, although it would probably work on that too!) and it works as an insect repellent too.
