I currently rent a flat and have an account with Octopus Energy for gas and electric. Have been with them for years. Have just bought a new house and plan to switch the energy of the property from the existing suppliers to Octopus, so I can keep my account.
For electricity, Octopus explained they needed to request the switch with the existing provider. This got rejected, so they told me I needed to call the original provider (EDF) to sort it out. I called EDF, they said they’d approved it, and Octopus were wrong. Called Octopus back, they tried again. Got a second rejection email. Called EDF back, again they said they accepted it. Octopus continue to say the switch has been rejected. I am literally going round in circles - neither one of them is willing to help me and just say I need to speak to the other.
Has anyone got any experience of this or advice on how I get actually get it sorted?? Mumsnet is full of wisdom so hoping one of you will know exactly what to do! 😇
