Royal Mail not delivering

I’m in the south east but wondering if this is nationwide.

i haven’t received any mail for 3 weeks, not even junk.

on trying to contact them the wait time on the phone is over 20 mins.

my local sorting office has cut their hours and only open for 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.

this is in central Brighton so I can imagine the queues are horrendous.

anyone know what’s going on? Have you had the same issues?

Have you had a chat with your neighbours are they getting post?

A few years ago i stopped getting post and after a lot of faffing I found out a mistake had been made.
Another house nearby has a dog that had attacked the postie so they stopped delivering ( very understandable) but had transposed two of the house numbers so it got mixed up .
The only way I could sort it was to actually speak to the postie that delivered to the area.

East of England - the service has been erratic. Usually a huge build up of paper letters and subscriptions is delivered on a Sunday afternoon or evening, not necessarily just dated in the week immediately prior. Went away for weekend plus 5 working days and over that time, came back to no sign of any deliveries in that period, which then arrived the day after, in one large batch.

There has been a change of strategy, apparently postage on one side of a road on one day, and the other on the next - but not sure if this is true, and it still shouldn't explain a 5 day or more gap given the expectations of transit times. Illness and absence, not surprisingly, affects timings, but this looks to be more habitual.

S Cumbria here. We get post in batches roughly every 2 weeks. It's a bit annoying if you're expecting something from the hospital etc.

Hit and miss here. Sometimes I see the postie daily, sometimes it's once a week or less. They definitely seem to prioritise parcels over letters.

We’ve only received post about once a week ever since Covid, it’s never gone back to normal.

OMG I Sent something to my DS3 last Wednesday 24 hr tracked.... It has still not arrived I'm in Wiltshire and so far has been back to my home town twice then to Bristol and is now in Swindon!' He only lives 8 miles away!! Outrageous

The service is no longer fit for purpose. Stamp prices are ridiculous and why pay for a 1st or 2nd class stamp when you’re lucky if it arrives at all.
Ive now make an official complaint with royal fail.
the only response I had was, “due to staff shortages”.
it really is quite pathetic and, as far as I’m aware, nobody seems to care!
