Best tips for cleaning the toilet

I live in an area with bad limescale, I clean my toilet every day but looking for tips to make it cleaner, I currently use black sharpie and have those little hook on toilet fresheners, I do still find under the rim where the water comes out still gets black and needs a good scrub daily. What’s everyone’s go to toilet cleaning regime?

Train everyone in the house to clean the toilet every time they take a crap: toilet cleaner squeezed under the rim: bog brush scrub: flush: toilet cleaner to again to leave in the toilet. And antibacterial wipes to do handle, seat, rim. Toilet always pristine in my house (5 of us; 3 teens). For limescale I would use citric acid to get it off.

Echo citric acid for limescale.

Get a water softener. Bit of an investment, but no more limescale anywhere.

So after reading this, I went and bought a box of citric acid from b+q
Moved into a house with what thought were awful brown stains coating the whole of the under-the-water bit of the loo, but then I wondered if it was limescale
I poured hot water down the loo, then poured in the whole box of citric acid (250g), left overnight
VOILA! Toilet literally looks brand new. Some of the limescale flakes that came off were so big and thick they wouldn't flush, and I had to put a (gloved) hand in to retrieve them. Ewww, but so worth it!
