Neff oven baffling me

I’ve moved into a new house with a Neff oven. I’ve got a manual and thought the CircoTherm setting would be like a normal fan oven but this is my third time using it and it’s taking twice as long as my previous basic oven and needing to be on a much higher temperature. So I’ve switched to Circo-roasting which seems a bit better but much slower and much less crispness than my previous oven.

are they well known for being slow or am I doing something wrong?

Find the manual online - when we had it in a Neff oven some years ago it was just like a fan oven setting, but this sounds as though it's different.

Mine runs hot . Was the oven brand new? If so I think you have to do a heat cycle for a period of time before first use . Does your manual say anything on that?

ApisMellifera · 06/06/2025 20:56

If it's a few years old it might need a service? The circotherm programme is the standard fan setting so if it's running cold you might have a thermostat or element problem

I have the manual here. I think it’s around 10 years old - will try to find out.

It’s 7 years old. My daughter came over the other day with some frozen wedges, wanting to make then before a night shift and we put them on the CircoTherm (fan) setting and an hour later they were barely cooked, not at all crispy.

Your oven is broken, needs fixing, I have two Neff ovens they operate like any other oven.

PersilOrAriel · 07/06/2025 08:09

I’ve got a Neff, your sounds like it’s broken, possibly the thermostat.

Freysimo · 07/06/2025 08:16

Sounds like the previous owners of your home didn't mention the oven didn't work properly!

BigDahliaFan · 07/06/2025 08:17

Yep it’s broken. Ours is great, very fast.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 07/06/2025 17:36

Could be the thermostat or the element that's gone. These should be fixable.

There's something wrong with your oven. I have a NEFF. CircoTherm is fan oven and I find mine cooks fast.

Ownedbykitties · 08/06/2025 13:26

Your Neff is naff. You need a new oven.

caramac04 · 08/06/2025 14:19

Agree your oven is broken. Sounds like the thermostat. Circotherm is a great fan oven setting and fast.

BambinaCucina · 08/06/2025 17:51

Circotherm is just like a normal fan oven. It's what I use for pretty much everything except bread/pizza.

Circo-roasting swaps between the fan and the grill and makes for good meats.

Yours doesn't sound right, unfortunately.
