We got our bin back, but also our neighbours rubbish!

Our council refuse collectors have always mixed our neighbours bins with ours as our front doors are so close (terraced). Our neighbours moved in 8 years ago and we never hit it off well. They used to do building works outside of acceptable hours and we had to get the council to come round to have a word. Anyway, our bins got mixed up again two weeks ago and we decided to leave them where the men left them. However, I wanted our bin back, as I put stickers on the bin of pretty birds and our door number in reflective paper months ago. I tried to get our bin back yesterday, but when I went to, our neighbours had put in loads of wood and carpet remnants (something our council won't take away). When I went to empty our rubbish this morning, they must've moved our bin back overnight as our bin still has their rubbish in it and must've seen me try to move it back! Now the council will blame me for the rubbish in my bin that's not mine. What should I do?

Put the rubbish in their bin.

Take it out and get a gravity lock for your bin.

If you don’t mind the fall out- bag up their rubbish, put it by their bin and maybe leave a little note saying thanks for returning our bin, but you forgot your offcuts.

Oh, and get a bin lock

Put the rubbish in their bin.

Unfortunately it's too heavy 😣

Tip the bin over on its side, remove their crap and put it in their bin. Why do people have to be such a*s?

ask your husband to remove the rubbish, and put it on their doorstep. Then keep your bin secure in future so it doesn’t happen again.
