Making white linen trousers white again

I want to wear a pair of white linen trousers to a wedding in July, but I wear them quite often, and the bottoms are getting a bit grubby and they generally don't look as perfectly smart as I'd like. Not filthy, but not pristine white.

The trousers are 55% linen 45% cotton, lining 100% polyester, handwash/dry clean only, but I put them on a cold wash in the machine with no spin usually.

Is there any way to re-whiten them, without completely disintegrating and/or shrinking them? They have been dry cleaned, but I don't find this brings them up particularly better than a cold wash in the machine. I have soaked them before, so am not averse to soaking them in something if necessary?
