I am late to spring cleaning and the washing machine has become my best friend. I am chucking in it so many things!
Lately:

  • all my child's soft toys as they were either full of dust or being dragged everywhere
  • all the trainers in the house
  • all our slippers/flip flops

What do you wash in there that is not clothes/linen/towels etc?

I usually wash my duvets, the loose covers on my settee and chairs. Also any cushion covers and throws. Any linens that have been stored as not used often eg tablecloths/napkins.
Quite a lot really.

I have 5 dogs and someone recommended vamoosh for in the washing machine to get rid of fur - it’s genius. Thought I’d share in case helpful.

All the throws on my sofas, cushion covers, the washable rugs (dog pees on them if she can), dog's bedding and blankets, sometimes the curtains (but I have to be feeling really enthusiastic and the weather must be set fair for days).

Sofa covers

lighttheworldagain · 20/05/2025 11:18

The cosy fleece blankets from the sofa. Sofa cushions.

gingercat02 · 20/05/2025 11:55

Cat beds, bath mats. Very occasionally cushion covers. That's it.
Never washed curtains or rugs in my life.
Duvets go to the dry cleaner once every few years.
