How to use colour run remover

I’ve had a laundry disaster but have had to order colour run remover as none in local supermarkets.
Do I need to keep the item damp until I use it or is it ok to let it dry?

Ideally it should stay wet.

If that’s not practical the most important thing is not to apply any heat, which might set the dye. Definitely don’t put it in dryer or even hot sun. You could hang it somewhere cool inside the house to dry slowly, or rinse it in COLD water and let it drip dry inside.
