House chain - any positive stories?

Wondering how long your house chains took? We are in a long one and feeling very stressed. Have been 'ready' for over six weeks, and not sure what is reasonable.

Any suggestions/ ideas/ experiences would be great.

8 months for us last time
if it is a long chain then it can take time
What does ready mean? Are you ready to exchange but no one else is? Where are you in the chain and how long has this been going on?
