What are these stains?

whenever I wash my kids clothes they come out stained with this stain, it’s completely stained, can’t be removed by stain remover I’ve tried 6 or 7 now with no change at all, not even faded it.

im so confused because when I wash mine and my partners clothes this doesn’t happen? And I do the exact same wash cycle, detergent amount.

it’s non bio liquid detergent on a 40 degree wash with no softener. If I wash towels or tea towels they don’t get stained JUST MY KIDS CLOTHES wtf! Including school uniforms and I’m at my wits end. I’m going to switch to powder I think.

Banana can leave black stains
Not sure of other foods

Looks like blueberry maybe. I also have that clothes set for my 5 year old!

Have you rubbed washing up liquid or soap bar into the stain? Bio powder is more likely to lift that sort of stain too

@dementedpixie@YoungSoak it’s definitely not food, the clothes were relatively clean just worn, they come out the washer looking like that!

@dementedpixieyeah I have dried all sorts, oxi spray, I’ve soaked it in a bucket over night, washing up liquid, elbow grease bar soap, I’ve made a paste with oxi powder and left it on to soak. Honestly i can’t figure out what can cause something to stain so badly. Wouldn’t be so bad but most of the clothes are from Next which is why I’m trying so hard to salvage them

I get that sometimes too and not only on kids' clothes but adults also on any white or light coloured cotton. I even had new tshirt washed once and had to bin it after the wash. The stains were on the back and sleeves as well so not food definitely. I don't have a clue, it doesn't happen every time and I can't figure out why either.

crazycatladie · 14/05/2025 19:30

I think this could be residue from laundry gel , I’d put the washer on a clean cycle and take the detergent draw out and clean it.

@dementedpixieits stains from bubble mixture 🫣 I have googled it and come across so many of the same stains on kids clothes who played with bubbles. It’s still stained though. No one really has a hack to get rid of the stain
