Washing machine recs- black marks?!!

Noticed for a while that some of our clothes are coming out of a wash with these black marks/stains. Sometimes really small like a dot/pea, sometimes bigger like the pic. It’s not every wash and it’s not every item so it’s been hard to track. Concluded it has to be the machine. This hoody went in with stain remover spray on it in areas due to tomato stains- the tomato has gone but these black marks have appeared. And it’s gone through both sides.
Had a repair man come out- he said nothing obviously wrong with machine. He would have to pull it apart and could be ball bearings and oil. If so- cheaper/best just get new machine.
I clean the machine regularly and as I said it’s not every wash this happens.
Any one else experienced this?
So time to get a new machine- recommendations please! Family of 4 with 2 pre school children. Feel like all I do is laundry!!
thanks

My wife and I sometimes get black marks from our washing machine on our white clothes. It is a sign that there is a residue build up and you need to clean the machine. You can get washing machine from the supermarket or, get two lemons, half them and put them directly into the machine and select a programme which has 90c temp

I clean the machine so regularly- using products designed for machine clean and other remedies.
I just don’t think that’s the problem

Try cleaning the filter as well

I know this sounds obvious but have you checked the door seal? A awful lot of gunk builds up in there.

Have cleaned the filter, drawer, seal, pipe hose and continue to clean the machine regularly. These stains are like oil, random splotches that don’t come out again

I'm afraid you might have to call someone out

Should have been clearer in my original post- looking for washing machine recommendations as I think it’s time for a new one!

In that case, sod it and get a new one instead!

I am very impressed with my beko I bought last year it’s 8kg, 1400 spin and settings are fully adjustable within the selected programmes. It has a magnetic drive and inverter motor so is incredibly quiet.
I bought from John Lewis for £250 free delivery.
It has exactly the same spec as my sons £500 Bosch
I’ve always bought mid range and I’m sure this one will last a good few years

Also recommend a Beko for reliability and value for money.
