Tip for cleaner

I live in a smallish two-bed with a garden in an affluent area of London. I am thinking of having a cleaner who can do 3-4 hours of cleaning once or twice a month from next week. I have already found three cleaners who are interested.

Their offered hourly rate is £16/£17/19 respectively. Do you normally give them a tip on top? I mean, let's say £17 x 3 hours = £51, so hand them £55 instead? Or is £4 not enough as a tip? Or should I just give them £51??

I used to give the cleaner extra only on special days such as birthdays, before Christmas/easter/holidays. But that is more than 10 years ago.

Can you please tell me in your case?

Special.occasions for a tip, or if they have given especially good service. Hopefully they accept bank transfers so that you don't need to have the exact money every time, as it often becomes tricky.

It's not usual to tip a cleaner, no.
A week's holiday pay now and then is always appreciated, though.

Thank you. So I can give her £51 usually, then a tip for special occasions/good service. How much do you normally give her for a special occasion? Probably the same amount you usually pay, so in my case £50ish?

I want them to feel their service is appreciated, but at the same time, I don't want to do anything over the top as I am not particularly wealthy...
