Is this damp?

Having a bit of a spring clean and move around - I found this patch on the skirting in the hallway (it was previously obscured by a small console table).
I’m concerned that this patch could indicate damp or a leak? The wall behind is the kitchen and this is where our washing machine and FF is housed…. Opinions please!

House is 11 years old.

Yes the skirt board looks blown, I expect due to a leak, pull out the machine and check.

Husband has had a look under FF after taking out the kick board, evidence of water damage probably from the WM. Arse.

It might just need tightening or new washers etc. always bloody annoying when things like this happen but you can get it sorted, good job you noticed OP.

Hopefully that’s all it is! Plumber booked to come around, husband isn’t the ‘handy’ type!
