Paranoia - washing machine drum paddles?

Ok know I will sound bonkers - nothing new there then 😁 - but I had a problem a few weeks ago with the paddles inside the washing machine drum. (The three stick up things attached to the drum for anyone who hasn't a clue what I am talking about.)

One completely snapped off a few weeks ago. Had to wait 4 days for our excellent repair guy to be free and he replaced it immediately then put a load on after he left and then another one snapped off so had to bring him back.

Turned out, upon further deeper inspection there was an old coin stuck which was causing the issue.

Thankfully it didn't cost an arm and a leg and everything fine now but it has made me totally paranoid about the blasted things. Today, for instance, there was a zip rattling inside the drum during the spin cycle and by the end I had totally convinced myself another paddle was broken but turned out there wasn't.

Has anyone else had broken paddles before and is this paranoia normal? Driving me mad but I'm nervous every time I use the machine which is only 2 and a half years old and I loved before this happened. 🙄

One of mine went recently but my machine is older than yours.
I got a packet of 3 from Amazon and a YouTube video showed me how to change it.

I now have the peace of mind of mind of knowing I have two spares.

Your world must be very small

You clicked on, read, and then posted. Perhaps you have a bit of time on your hands as well?

Your world must be very small

Did that make you feel better about yourself? 🙄

SauvignonBlanche again mega thanks for the "Spares" tip.

Took a bit of searching with it being a relatively newer model but finally found a supplier.

Hopefully the paranoia will ease now.😂

I didn’t mention anything about time - although reading, replying took about 1 minute.

My comment was related to how small your mental and physical world must be if
a. you’re ‘nervous every time you use the machine’
b. anxiously waiting every time because you’re so worried about a ‘paddle’ breaking.
c. Post to ask if other people are panicky about a machine paddle breaking and asking whether this is normal.

i really don’t think this is normal behaviour and it struck me how little a world you must inhabit that this takes precedence.

It was supposed to be relatively light hearted TheAmpleBalonz with a bit of sarcasm for good measure but I did amit the thought of them breaking again was driving me nuts.

I promise there is nothing wrong with my mental health or my world. I'm just one of life's bonkers people.🤣

I think it’s probably the complete opposite but hey ho
