How to get rid of the smell of white spirit

My DH used some white spirit in the sink, without taking my travel mug out the sink 🙄. Now I can’t get rid of the smell!! I’ve soaked the mug in hot water, left it in a cup of vinegar for hours and the smell is still in the lid? Anything else to try before I throw it away? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Set it on fire (the mug not the DH) the buy another, then send him the bill ( the DH not the mug).

Oh yes, he will be sent to the shops tomorrow if this smell doesn’t come out! 🤬

My partner washed clothes with microfibre clothes that had white spirit on them in the washing machine, took me 5 washes to get the clothes to smell half decent and multiple washed after that for the washing machine to not reek 🤢 lethal stuff!
