Does anyone know what this insect is? It's very flat.

Is it a baby ladybird 🐞 maybe 🤔?

It's a very distinctive shape but I can't place it. Any other clues? Where was it, any egg casings lying around, do you have pets?

Looks like a shield bug, there are lots of variations of markings

I would say carpet beetle.
