Rutland isn't on there? Nor Lincs which contains Stamford?

Eyes98 · 11/04/2025 07:56

You could only choose 6 unfortunately

Why bucks and berks? That’s being silly. And you are the only person I’ve noticed who has suggested Cambridgeshire belongs.

BIWI · 11/04/2025 10:15

Why is this in ‘Housekeeping’?

Notonthestairs · 11/04/2025 10:22

Seen your other thread this morning @Eyes98 - The housewife capital of the UK. Mentions a Mail article from 2011. Are you a journalist trying to cobble together an article? Grab a free stay somewhere in Cambridgeshire? (no one else seems to have suggested it is the poshest county)

BIWI · 11/04/2025 10:23

So many threads this morning ...

SunshineBirdSong · 11/04/2025 10:23

Not Cheshire?! Appalled

ForZanyAquaViewer · 11/04/2025 10:49

You’re still pushing this Cambridgeshire thing? 🤣

Calliopespa · 11/04/2025 11:05

Maybe op is about to put her (Cambridgeshire) house on the market!

TeethNoseTeeth · 11/04/2025 19:20

Do you mean England, not UK?

4pmwinetimebebeh · 11/04/2025 19:25

WHERE IS HAMPSHIRE?!

vandelier · 11/04/2025 19:29

4pmwinetimebebeh · 11/04/2025 19:25

WHERE IS HAMPSHIRE?!

Near Wiltshire.

4pmwinetimebebeh · 11/04/2025 19:25

WHERE IS HAMPSHIRE?!

Very south. It has Winchester - which used to be the Capital.

SonoPazziQuestiRomani · 11/04/2025 19:55

Why does the list contain both Berks and Bucks? They're basically the same thing (and aren't Slough and Luton there anyway? Just saying...).

Anyway, the answer is clearly Rutland (or I'll offer an alternative wildcard suggestion of Sutherland if we can count that as a county).

I think the inclusion of both berms and bucks was designed to tilt the voter towards clicking on Cambridgeshire!

Before someone comes to correct me - yes Luton is in Bedfordshire (completing the triad of beige "B" counties Grin)

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/04/2025 20:06

Where’s Hertfordshire? That is very posh in parts.

Yeah but... Watford.

Araminta1003 · 11/04/2025 20:14

It isn’t “county” wide though is it - it’s specific towns/cities/villages in some counties that are really posh. Not if there is another place there that is the opposite like Slough then it isn’t “posh”. In the same way that London is both posh and really not posh.
Or are you asking which is the most boring county with zero diversity where everyone is middle class and those who aren’t run for the hills?

Exactly. That's why Rutland makes sense - pretty market towns, villages and countryside, 3 major public schools but no big cities because it's such a small county. It's no more "posh" than the nice bits of any other county though!

Mapletreelane · 11/04/2025 21:44

Errr.....where is Gloucestershire?!!

SpottedDonkey · 11/04/2025 21:46

The correct answer is Rutland, whatever this poll says.

Calliopespa · 11/04/2025 21:59

Near Wiltshire

Calliopespa · 11/04/2025 21:59

And Oxfordshire

TheMasterplan23 · 11/04/2025 22:01

I’m born and bred in Cambridgeshire…..

you need to take that off the list 😂
