Back with another dishwasher question. Can I replace freestanding with integrated?

So my dishwasher search continues and I have come to the conclusion there are a lot of white dishwashers which I don't like the look of. If I had an integrated one it wouldn't be visible and wouldn't matter.

If I get the same size/slimline type will it just go in the space OK? I can then buy a kitchen cupboard door which attaches somehow to the dishwasher? Or is it more complicated and does it require some sort of frame?

And are integrated ones less deep in order for the door to fit and therefore have less internal space? Or does the door jut out into the kitchen?

If you can get the same kind of door to match your existing cupboards then yes, that'll look great, but be aware you may need some filler material too because the freestanding and integrated are exactly the same size, but freestanding are fitted with a gap to be able to slide them in and out. You'll need to fill this gap when you put an integrated model in. It's usually only a couple of cm.

They are both made to fit in with standard depth cupboards/worktop, and if the integrated is properly fitted the door shold be flush with your other cupboards when closed. It's worth getting it done by a professional to look decent.

However integrated works out more expensive than freestanding, so you could look at stainless steel/silver finish or black if you don't want white.

Thanks. I'm struggling to find a black one which isn't a cheap and nasty brand. I'm not sure about silver. DH is quite good at DIY so will ask him if he's up for gap filling adjustments.

Current kitchen is mint green cupboards and I was thinking of going for a total clash with a pink front for the dishwasher!

There are fully integrated and semi integrated which have different fronts and door sizes to fit. Either is more expensive than a freestanding. The plumbing is same though.
