My cleaner has left me a note to get some cleaning stuff for her, she's lovely and brilliant at her job, but her English isn't 100%. In her note she's asked me to get Vaxll (huh?) and bref. I haven't a clue what either is. I don't have a mobile number for her so I can't call her and to be honest I don't think her English is good enough for her to understand me even if I did have a number for her. Any clues?

Bref?

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/05/2008 19:12

Vaxll = Viakal?

Janni · 15/05/2008 19:13

Could the first one be Ajax?

flubdub · 15/05/2008 19:14

Bref?
Hmm - could be that cleaning thing, but you're not likely to find that in Asda, are you?

Iv not idea, but make sure you report back and tell us!

PortAndLemon · 15/05/2008 19:22

Bref.

So I imagine another brand of something similar would do.

HeadFairy · 15/05/2008 19:26

blimey jackieno, that bref looks amazing! I guess it's a brand we don't have here. i can't seem to find where to buy it. I'll have to go to Germany! I can't decide between viakal and ajax for the first one, they both sound plausible although she did insist I got some Cif instead of my lovely environmentally friendly Ecover, so I can't think why she'd need the ajax. For the floors maybe? I thought Cif did everything.

oops x post portandlemon... isn't cif a similar sort of thing? It's not the cream cif cleaner but a spray in a bottle, says it's good for all surfaces.

Ooh - maybe vaxll is 'shake and vac' . All together now, 'You do the shake and vac, and put the freshness back...'

HeadFairy · 15/05/2008 20:28

crikey, I'm getting flashbacks of the 70s. She can't seriously want that stuff can she? Is she judging my carpets? I only had them cleaned a few months ago, granted ds has puked on them quite a few times since!

Get her some Cillit bang

HeadFairy · 15/05/2008 21:37

that's a good idea, do I have to shout when I'm using it?

Grin
Janni · 16/05/2008 20:01

I'm thinking vaxll is most likely to be viacal.

blossomsmine · 17/05/2008 22:27

What about a little selection of stuff, then leave her a note asking her to state exactly what she was trying to ask for lol!!

HeadFairy · 18/05/2008 08:38

I have got some limescale remover so I think I might try and explain to her via a note it's the same thing. My Lithuanian isn't brilliant but I think a big question mark and a note saying I don't know what these are should suffice. We've got every cleaning product known to mankind under our sink, she can't possibly need anything. she's very brand loyal though, thoroughly rejected my Ecover for her Cif!!
