Damp in built-in wardrobe

I have a built in wardrobe attached to an external wall. The wall gets damp on it which causes the clothes on that side to smell of damp. I try to clean it regularly with mould removing spray but it comes back. And so I need to keep washing all the clothes again. Anyway I can prevent this?

Get the roof checked.

You need to find the source of the damp to eliminate what is causing it in the first place.

Agree that you need to find the source of the damp and address it.

In the meantime use dehumidifier boxes which have a silicon substance in them which absorbs damp. Use a few of them spaced around the wardrobe.

We have this and it’s nothing to do with penetrating damp, it’s to do with the fact we live in a Victorian single-skinned house and the outside wall is therefore colder than the other walls and damp in the air condenses there.

The remedy is to have a small dehumidifier in degree or several silicone damp traps. It also helps to crack open the wardrobe door during the day.

we have the same, absolutely no damp other then the fact the air condensis in that particular corner because the clothes are blocking the air flow

Dont over fill the wardrobe, and use those disposable or rechargeable dehumidifiers
