This is the second time it’s happened. Wasn’t there when I hung it out on the line. Bought it in, aired in tumble dryer for around 4-5 minutes and now this. Can somebody enlighten me what’s going on because I have no clue

What on earth is this?!

We can let you know once your pic has been approved.

( no point in posting more pics )

In the meantime can you describe it ? Insect , flower , spider , ?

Augustus40 · 05/04/2025 18:10

Animal vegetable or mineral?

BobnLen · 05/04/2025 18:19

I can see it, Is it some sort of grease which didn't show when the washing was wet but now is dry so shows up.

ScottBakula · 05/04/2025 18:28

Ah we can see it now , I agree with pp it looks like grease, try rubbing a little washing up liquid into it and rewashing

Theycallmemama · 05/04/2025 18:34

It’s like an orange stain like rust. I’ve used vanish today, bleach, the pink stuff stain remover, washing up liquid etc all it’s done is fade it 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it’s only happening on white stuff

Whatever it is, because it has been dried and the heat from the dryer, it has become set in, so will be very difficult to remove. If it's not greasy it could be rust from the machine, how old is it, Is this possible

The machine is only a few months old so I hope it isn’t that 😩

It wouldn't be from the machine then I wouldn't have thought, also if it's quite new it shouldn't have any hidden crud in it which older machines sometimes accumulate. You haven't got any large birds that visit your garden have you, that could have eaten something orange

JellyBellybutton · 05/04/2025 19:26

Bubble mixture stain? They only appear after washing and are impossible to get out.

Theycallmemama · 05/04/2025 21:40

No, no birds not that I know of, but before I put it in the dryer to air it it’s fine. It comes out the dryer with it so it’s strange. I’ve also noticed it on some other white items too it’s so so strange. It looks like a big ketchup stain which obviously I know it isn’t. The only thing I can think of is I had no lid things for ages to put the liquid in so I had to just pour in directly onto the clothes . But then saying that I’ve done this before many a time and it hasn’t happened then 🤷🏻‍♀️
