Morning all

I’ve had a disaster with a black top!

I lent on a white radiator whilst the heating was on and have just noticed that it has left black marks on it.

I’ve tried bleach, nail varnish remover, the magic sponge and the pink stuff all to no avail.

I’m hoping one of you lovely posters will be able to help please.

TIA

As you have tried the likes of nail varnish remover and magic sponge without success, I can only assume it is embedded in the enamel which is quite unusual as enamel doesn’t normally stain. You are going to have to get aggress and take away the top lay of paint, I would try toothpaste first (mild abrasive) then if that don’t work car paint T cut compound. Both do require a lot of elbow grease to cut through the stain and back to fresh paint, you might still end up going through to bare metal though, if you do you can always blend it back in with a spray can of enamel.

I had similar at my old house. I used pink stuff but with a scrub daddy and it came straight off
