Boring I know - What do you think of these curtains and would you use this colour paint?

Too much? I really don't want a taupe like the main picture because I have just got rid of our very very dull taupe walls in here Thanks sooooooo much if you can help (DH is allergic to decorating).

Very nice together. Those curtains are not unlike mine

LadyOfWaffle · 14/05/2008 10:54

Oh great, that's two OKs Worried it was all going to be abit colourful and overpowering in here.

definitely do a colour check on the walls with the paint. green shades can look sickly and much of it has to do with the light in the room. approve you ditching taupe. says the girl with a bright lime green kitchen, orange study, dark green bedroom and fushia hallway!

mablemurple · 14/05/2008 12:16

Sorry to disagree, but I think it would be a bit overpowering. The curtain fabric has a fresh feel to it which I think would be lost if you painted all the walls the green colour. Also, the impact of the fabric would be diminished if they have to 'fight' with surrounding green walls. Could you paint just one wall green, the others a neutral/off white (not brilliant white)?

The above all strictly imho, of course, and if you like it, then go for it !

LadyOfWaffle · 14/05/2008 13:59

this is abit easier on the eye?

I know what you mean about sort of fighting for space, but I am soooo trying to avoid dull walls as such, this room doesn't get alot of sun amd the taupe looked really nice in the tub but was pants on the wall, even with a 'feature' wall that was wallpapered. I need a neutral colour I guess (white or beigey based) but with a tiny hint of a green, but it's like the Holy Grail of paint colours!

That is a nice green LadyofWaffle - might be better. I know what you mean about dull walls, but with those curtains and some interesting pictures, the wall colour will hardly matter!

Think they are all lovely. I really would test too though. You could put the lighter willow one on a wall to make the room look longer IYKWIM? We've got green in a room and did the furthest away from door wall in an off white and the difference was amazing, really opens up the room and def made it look bigger.
