Hi. Our house is situated halfway down a lane. There is a house at the end of the lane who I think the lane actually belongs to. We don't have parking on this side of our house (or at least i don't think we do.) Our next door neighbour (on the otherside of the lane) has access to the lane to drive down and park his car in the garages at the bottom and the next door at one neighbour also has access to park car down end and they have a gate to get to their garden. I am wondering who owns the lane.

Also tonight I had Tesco deliver and normally they don't pull into the lane but park at the top and tonight he pulled into the lane and then the lady at the end (who is really nice!) wanted to get out so I told Tesco man to move the van and I apologised to the lady. I am worried now I have peed her off but I did say sorry. Think I will pop down tomorrow and apologise, would that be a decent thing to do or just leave it.

It's not your fault he is just a delivery man so he wouldn't know and you didn't tell him to park there he would just assume. Don't worry.

i wouldnt worry about it, you have apologised and got the tesco man to move for her, next time you see her just smile and say hello, if she appears tense then apologise again and see what she says. if she is ok then forget about it

I think you did fine.

We have a shared driveway with one neighbour, with access across it for another neighbour. We get around potential blockages by either warning each other that we might have a van parked on such and such a day (for a workman, say), or by asking permission to use their part of the driveway if it's for a long or big job. We don't do anything for deliveries though. But the essential thing is that, if a neighbour is blocked in, we ask the 'offending' vehicle to move immediately, and we apologise for blocking the neighbour in. All 3 households do this and we all get on fine.
