Tips for Dry Clean only curtains?

We were lucky enough to buy an ex show home that included all furnishings a few years ago. Including two pairs of dry clean only ceiling to floor heavy curtains. I've only been lightly dusting them by using the hoover since we moved in as, not only are they heavy and large curtains, but they have weights sewn in the bottom hems. I can't face taking them down to take to the dry cleaners but they need a clean. I also don't know about the weights. Any ideas or tips?

Without taking them to the dry cleaners, you don’t have many options tbh. Hoovering them is about as much as you can do as spraying them with anything could be disastrous to the fabric, if not initially, then it could react when you do then eventually take them to the cleaner. Maybe a refresh with a handheld steamer? although that is a risk to dry clean only fabric too tbh.
