Tumble dryer or washer dryer + freezer

We have room for two under counter units. We rent and can’t replace the inbuilt fridge freezer with tiny freezer.

Currently have a cheap washing machine. High end but ancient dryer just broke.

So options are:

A) Tumble dryer
B) Sell washer and buy a Miele washer dryer and buy an extra freezer

wwyd?

The only thing is with a washer dryer if one bit breaks the whole machine has to go. Maybe seperate washing machine and drier??? I had one but the drier wouldn't turn off even when I hadn't set it

Separates. We put the freezer in the garage , we rent too

Washer dryer and a freezer would be my preference. While a washer dryer doesn't dry as quickly, and laundry is more inefficient because you can't wash and dry at the same time, having either no freezer or just a freezer tray in a fridge would be much more inconvenient for me. Unless there's space and funds for a freestanding freezer unit, which I used to have in a flat where there was only space for a fridge and washer dryer.

Washer, freezer, and a heated airer.

Washer , freezer and heated airer / drying pod with a small dehumidifier to stop condensation / damp

Tumble dryer.

In my observation, frozen foods often get overlooked and eventually thrown out. False economy.

The joy of tumbled warm laundry & the time it saves is bliss.

Dryer - the capacity of washer dryers is not even as in you can wash a 10kg load (for example) but the dryer capacity is only 7kg..... So you have to know how much your washing actually weighs. As PPs have said if one bit breaks the whole thing is out of action and everything takes much longer. DD had one (expensive) in her house when she bought it and hated it so much she bought separate machines within a couple of weeks.
