Help! Water stains on table

Can anyone shed light on how I can get these awful stains off my table? My little one was messing around with the vase and water went all over it. We often use a tablecloth but sometimes we don’t so would like to fix this asap

Rubbing a walnut is supposed to work.

I've done this and it works:

Folded tea towel on top and then rub a hot iron over. Keep it moving.

The white ring is where water has penetrated the wood.
The heat from the iron causes the water to rise out of the table.
