Has anyone overcome the problem of the missing remote control?

Hi, one of the major bugbears in our house is that the remote is ALWAYS missing. People throw it down when they've used it and then it can't be located without looking under every sofa cushion etc. This seems to happen at least once a day. There must be a technological solution to this problem! What I would ideally like is a stick on tile that beeps when you clap (old fashioned style), that doesn't involve finding your phone (also lost), logging onto an app etc... but I can't find anything like this. Any tips?

Next time you find it, take the batteries out. No reason, other than to annoy other people as much as they annoy you. 😂

Put a universal remote control app on your phone? I know they exist but have no idea if they work.

If it's a Sky remote, you can press the central button on the Sky box and the remote will beep.

Thought I had, with velcro on the back, and velcro on the wall/cupboard - but no, now we're down to one, when there should be 3 or 4. I think the settee has eaten them.

BUT the google home app on my phone lets me control them, so that's good, and sometimes hey google works and sometimes it doesn't (which is silly, since it definitely works from the home app..)

We have a Samsung TV and you can control it from the smart phone

Sellotape it to a tennis racket or other ridiculously large object.

It's a virgin remote. I don't really want to use my phone, these things always take ages to set up and then half the time don't work properly. I love the tennis racket idea!
