white wine vinegar accident - help!

Yesterday I knocked a bottle of white wine vinegar over and it's gone all over an armchair and a rug under the table. I've tried dabbing it out with kitchen paper and water but it hasn't shifted. I've come into the kitchen/diner today and it stinks. Any idea how I can get it out! I'd say the armchair has a linen type fabric, and the rug is a wool mix?

Could you spray vodka on it?

Is that a thing? I've not heard of that... do you leave it on then blot it off, if so for how long? I might need to drink some soon if that stink doesn't go!

If it’s just the smell it will go in time don’t worry!

Yes, it's just the smell! Because both the rug and chair are quite bland grey/taupe colours there seems to be no stain at all!

It will go don’t worry! Vinegar is actually great at neutralising smells! 🤣

Give it a week and you will have forgotten entirely it ever happened.

Sprinkle bicarb on then hoover later?

You were right, it has gone away. Bicarb was on stand-by but not required, thank you!
