Wooden windows on second floor, how to clean?

I've just moved to a new house and we used to wash our upstairs upvc windows with a long pole at our old house but my new house has wooden paint around the glass. Can I just clean it like normal? I'm worried that I'm going to get the wood covered in glass cleaner suds as I have very little control with the pole.

FYI - I can't lean out of window to reach the glass upstairs unfortunately, the windows don't open far enough.

Should be fine - surely the wood will be painted or treated in some way to protect it from the weather? And it's used to getting wet in the rain! I'd just go for it.

Same as pp. I guess you could stick a dry cloth on thee d of the pole & use it for a rough dry.
interested in your pole & how long it is.

also, if they are sash windows, you may find you can unscrew the wood at the side of the frame & uncover hooks which allow you to swing the window in to clean.
