Organising the fridge

Just wondering if great fridge organisers can give me some pointers because I fail quite badly on keeping track of things quietly going off at the back of the fridge Sad.

Ours is a fairly tall large fridge, with the freezer section being 3 deep drawers below. I can reach the top shelf just about but - what do people keep at the back of the top shelf of a fridge that's above eye level, and how do you keep tabs on it?

Infact, the back of all the shelves of my fridge are under utilised and where things go to die. I'm thinking I'm doing it all wrong. We don't actually buy days/weeks worth of fresh food at a time, we shop more or less daily (London so multiple options for food shopping all over the place) so we probably have more expired food - old jars of pickles and jam and things that get pushed back - than fresh.

How do you rotate things in your fridge and not lose track of them? Where am I going wrong?

I have a spinning tray with all the condiments on there that I I can carousel easily. I got it from Sainsbury’s.

I'm too short to reach the top shelf so my DP keeps his stuff there, eg lunches and snacks he only likes.

Get rid of any expired food.

Maybe meal plan with the stuff you already have so you're not buying randomly and then accumulating. Don't buy anymore jars until you've used up everything.

If you are shopping almost daily, your fridge shouldn't be jam packed. Besides, your fridge needs space between your food to work efficiently.

I zone my shelves so like goes with like eg all dairy on one shelf. The others in the house generally put stuff back into the same place.
