Dirty windows from council work

So I have an ex council house and next door is a council owned home. They have been and cut the grass today for the council owned home. However they have splashed dirt all over my door and window. It's really bad actually. I plan to complain, anyone have any experience?

Just go out and clean them.

Newname25 · 20/02/2025 17:00

Seriously????

My next door neighbours have been building a house the other side for months and we've had dirtier windows due to debris etc. I just cleaned them myself.

starlight431 · 20/02/2025 17:16

I'd hope my gardener would be more respectful of my neighbours and ensure he didn't splatter the glass and doors.

This is hilarious 😆

MathsMagpie · 20/02/2025 17:17

Not a good use of council funds if they send someone to clean

nahthatsnotforme · 20/02/2025 17:17

Hang on, why are the council cutting next doors grass anyway?!

LadyLucyWells · 20/02/2025 17:17

I have experience. You need a bucket of water, washing up liquid and a sponge.

letslaughitoff · 20/02/2025 17:38

Do you not have anything better to moan over to day op.

starlight431 · 20/02/2025 17:49

I obviously don't have anything else to be bothered about. Thank goodness tbh. But when you've just spend a few grand on a new door and side glass you too would be pissed if it was splashed with mud! Guys why do we need to be horrid to each other? Why not just be nice?

In my area, pensioners in council houses can pay an annual fee to have their grass cut. Single parents on certain benefits can have it done for free.

Sprig1 · 20/02/2025 17:58

Maybe pop out next time they are there and ask them to be more careful.

HelenCurlyBrown · 20/02/2025 18:00

Don’t be daft. You could’ve cleaned it in the time it takes to send an email.

And why are they cutting grass in February?

Craftyparty · 20/02/2025 18:03

You should do what most others would. Moan about it to yourself and then clean the windows. Life’s too short.

Be careful, it might also get rained on….

SpiritAdder · 20/02/2025 18:07

I think I would just use the hose for that job. There is no reason to complain. It’s not like they threw dog shit at your door.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 20/02/2025 18:11

You're lucky, our council put our wheelie bin back 'all crooked'.
I had to go and straighten it myself.

Bigfellabamboo · 20/02/2025 18:12

Jesus Christ. This sort of attitude is exactly what is wrong with society

nahthatsnotforme · 20/02/2025 18:18

It would really annoy me too OP. I wouldn't complain but i would ask the gardener to avoid doing it again

There's a lot of posters who don't seem to be too bothered about their property.
