Quooker maintenance

Does anyone have any experience with the maintenance required for a Quooker tap? What do you do, and how often?

Ours is quite elderly (10-12 years old) & came with the house. It seems to work well but we’re in a very hard water area so I’m sure we must need to do something periodically?

There's no standard servicing requirements but they say that if you experience a reduction in the water pressure then this may be due to limescale and to book a service. Not sure how much a service costs though.

For the model we own you are supposed to change the filter every six months. You can buy the filter on their website and they email you the instructions on how to fit it.
In our case, after few years of use the tap stopped working and we have been quoted £350 for replacement, plus £125 + VAT for the engineer visit. If it needed descaling it would have costed an additional £200. And if we wanted a full service it was an additional £75. This was a quite recent quote.

I inherited one when I bought my house. Not a hard water area, but it stopped working and I had to replace the innards as it was clogged up
