Morning

I'll do lnks ina mo.

I've just signed up on a one day housework busting thread, as I need to get back on track and the dds are both at after school clubs today.

I'l still be on here too

Tortoise - Ring the dentist - youcan't do housework with toothache. It needs sorting!

Bianca - Gentle reminder to try and ring Drs. I did read your posts over the weekend, but didn't reply at the time, and think everything I can think of has already been said now.

ehm have never used one of these myself- i'd say go with what you have if you like it tho

tort i banned squash when my ds was 3 or4 he wasnt impressed but after lots of trial and error it seemed the additives etc sent him loopy. the calm in our house was amazing after a couple of weeks. he now has it as an occasional treat, although it is even more occasional now as dd is allergic gets a rash within 15 mins of having some.
all i'd suggest is go for it, they'll get over it after a couple of days. and keep LOTS of water in fridge tatses so much beetter freezing cold, ds wont drink it any other way

i've had a lovely day at the strand.
did manage to do general tidy up before we left for school this mornin and have just washed up and hooveered. my wash machine didnt spin earlier so have set it to try again, please dont start being naughty WM
have just got back to find very large utility bills on the mat. elec was roughly as expected but gas was 3x the last one, and for a shoter period. wouldnt mind if used the sodding heating!
so going to have to brave the basement and read my meters this week as the bills are estimated not actual. to see if i really am using what they say

off to school now am picking up my freinds dc today then home to cook dinner. hiopefully get spun washing out machine and put some more in

Thanks for school uniform advice Ruby.

DH came home for lunch to give me an hour off so I went into town and bought new bras, a new skirt and a new dress.

No housework though

EHM · 08/05/2008 16:44

Hi ALL

Thanks for your comments regarding the monitor. I think I may start a thread on the in the Multiples Area.

tort I was at my parents at the weekend & my nephew who is 18 months has been given Orange Squash for 1 week including at my Mums. He was like 'chucky'. I said to my Mum it maybe the Orange as my brother was exactly the same when he was a Toddler. Similar to dylsm lo he would go off the scale. Ellie only has water, still has milk when she gets up & before she goes to bed. FGS had great idea about ice cubes & straws. Good Luck. When is your dad home & how is your tooth?

PS. what age should children start visiting the dentist. Elliis nearly 2.

Had a lovely day enjoying the sunshine, washing dried, ironed & put away.I have to do when Ellie is napping, having quiet time or in bed at night or I would never get it done.

Maybe back later, if not have a good evening & see you all tomorrow.x

EHM - I would take her from now to the dentist. They wont do anything other than count her teeth but it is good for the,m to get used to the idea of going, and they get a sticker too

EHM · 08/05/2008 16:46

Thanks FGS I am going to make an appointment for when we get back from holiday. She will love getting a sticker. How is your knee?

tortoise · 08/05/2008 16:56

EHM Dad is only visiting. Has to sort out their stuff that is still in storage over here. Will only see him for a few hours. Tooth is hurting at the moment. Agree with FGS. Visit dentist at any age, mine always came with me and he checked them at the same time.

DC are protesting about squash ban! I will stick with it though! And will put some in the fridge too.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/05/2008 17:06

Tort - what about getting some still water in bottles (just once) and then refilling them and putting them in the fridge. I prefer drinking tap water from a bottle than from a cup

EHM - knee is doing fine. Just managed to come downstairs one step at a time in the last few days. It started off very painful but seems to be easing. Managing everything else except kneeling and squatting.

babyjjbaby · 08/05/2008 17:27

tidy up done
FEED ANIMALS done
polish
VACUEM done
clean kitchen done
CLEAN BATHROOM done
vacuem upstairs done
DUST UPSTAIRS
try and put all the babies clothes on the hangers
GO IN THE ATTIC AND SORT OUT SOME POLES FOR THE AWNING

i have vacuemed all round the downstairs round the edges under the sette chairs and table and wiped the door frames and dado rail and skirting boards

tortoise · 08/05/2008 18:32

I have put a jug of wayer in the fridge and made ice cubes. Added a small drop of food colour to each to make them look fun! Worth a try!

Jas · 08/05/2008 18:36

I'm following your lead, tortoise and am implementing a new rule.....juice with meals, water at all other times. The dds are happy with it so far.

I've just filled my Ikea ice trays (good if there is one near you , they do funky shapes and they last quite well) ready for tomorrow.

If this works, ie making will have to be added to my evening routine

jas. Hope yours are ok with it.

Who was who got Mariposa karaoke wings? DD1 wants them for her birthday. Are they worth buying?

Tort - DD1 got them. She loves them. Novelty lasts about 1/2 hour but then she does play with them about 2-3 times a week so I'm happy. We're learning the songs at the mo.

tortoise · 08/05/2008 20:06

sounds good fgs. Argos have the fairytopia one cheaper at the moment so i don't know which one to go for.

tortoise · 08/05/2008 20:11

Well, the fairy ones are out of stock so that sorts that lol!

scattyspice · 08/05/2008 20:35

Well, got on top of laundry/ironing (no progress with hoovering) and went to library. Went to Sainsburys after tea for a few bits and bought cropped trousers and a skirt!

You all seem to be doing well without squash. I'll try tomorrow.

Mine go to dentist since babies but DD has never opened her mouth and DS only opened briefly last time so no idea on the state of their teeth.

dylsmum1998 · 08/05/2008 21:03

lol scatty sounds like your dental trips are as eventful as my dd's! i've been taking her for the past year and still doesnt open. to be fair her visits always seem to clash with teething

Nutsaboutchocolate · 08/05/2008 21:40

Evening All

I`m in bed already

A teeth a squash day today in here today.

Mine all go to the dentist but DS1 hates going. He does not like the sounds while we wait. So we now go first thing in the morning. Even the new dentist thought it was a great idea and said he would give other mums the idea of being first in with children who are scared about the dentist.

We drink a lot of water here. Filtered and kept in the fridge (x2 jugs)Orange juice for breakfast(DD has milk) DD will have apple/orange juice and water with her lunch. DC have hot milk before going to bed. DSs were trying to get me to let them have hot chocolate before bed. Yeah right, they go hyper after drinking hot chocolate!

Tort I think you will have to book that dentist appointment. You should get an appointment for tomorrow if you can.(weekend! I will say not more)
Do you find you can have a really bad toothache until you get to the dentist and then it goes. I have to write down which tooth is hurting as it will stop hurting when I get to the dentist and I cant remember which tooth was then hurting.

I did go shopping today and got 3 new tops, some new T-shirts and 4 pairs of 3/4 lengths. (All summery colours) A pair of pink trainers (which DD keeps putting on and walk around in.) A pair of white and pink flipflop. Some new socks, (I love new socks, I never get enough new socks) And a new white summer hat. Just under £100
Now watch the sun go in and start raining

HN xxx

tortoise · 08/05/2008 22:23

Hi HN. Shopping trip sounds fun. I need some new tops but have to buy DD1's birthday pressies first. Getting them tomorrow. I do have a £15 voucher to spend in mark one so i will have a look if i have time!

EHM · 09/05/2008 07:44
